Advanced Mode Settings

Advanced Mode uses a more robust text insertion strategy that lets you use Voice In on a significantly larger number of sites. Advanced Mode is used by default when you have Voice In Plus.

Advanced Mode Disabled Domains 🔒 (only for plus users)

Below is a list of domains on which Advanced Mode is disabled. Add a domain only if you want to disable Advanced Mode on that domain.

Voice Commands

Voice commands (also called macros) let you do your everyday tasks more efficiently.

Voice command is mapping from one phrase to another phrase or action. For example, the voice command "full stop" => "." ensures that when you dictate "full stop", a "." will be inserted with the correct spacing.

Built-In Commands

Voice In comes with a built-in list of voice commands for punctuation marks, special characters, line breaks, quotes, and brackets across 21 languages. Check-out the full list of built-in commands here

Dictation Text Transforms 🔒 (only for plus users)

Use text transforms below to transform dictated text.

 Lowercase except at the start of a sentence
Your dictated text will be typed in lowercase only (except for the beginning of a sentence which is auto-capitalized).
 Disable capitalization
Enabling this disables capitalization. Use in conjunction with the above to get only lowercase text.

Start / Stop Voice In

You can use the keyboard shortcut to start/stop dictation
Go to URL chrome://extensions/shortcuts (copy paste the URL into a new tab) to change the shortcut

Language Switcher 🔒 (only for plus users)

You can use keyboard shortcuts or pop-up options to switch languages quickly.
Go to URL chrome://extensions/shortcuts to set/change the shortcuts.

Dictation Box Settings

Some sites use complicated input handling, which makes it hard to add text through the extension. On these websites, you can use the Dictation Box.
Dictation Box is a text box Voice In adds to the page. You can dictate into the Dictation Box by simply setting the cursor in the Dictation Box. After dictation you can copy the text out with ease.
