Scanning Using the Driver
This explains the procedure for scanning using the driver.
NOTE
If you use the Color Network ScanGear 2 driver with the WIA-TWAIN compatibility mode etc. of the operating system, a UI that depends on the operating system is displayed and the procedure is different.
Precondition
Confirm that the following conditions are satisfied. Complete the preparation operations.
Driver installation
Select the scanner with the Color Network ScanGear 2 Tool
Confirm that the scanner is in an online state
Procedures

Set the original in the device.
If scanning from the feeder: Set the original with the side to be scanned facing upward.
If scanning from the platen: Set the original with the side to be scanned facing downward.

Start the Color Network ScanGear 2 driver from an application that is WIA or TWAIN compliant in the computer.
In the application, execute a command for scanning an image → select [Color Network ScanGear 2].
NOTE
The method for starting the scanner driver varies according to the application. For details, refer to the manual of each application.
Depending on the TWAIN-compatible application, when selecting the scanner driver, two drivers with the same name, a TWAIN-compatible driver and a WIA-compatible driver via WIA-TWAIN compatibility mode, may be displayed.

Set the functions as required in the [Basic Settings] sheet.
You can set more detailed functions in the [Advanced Settings] sheet in addition to the items in the [Basic Settings] sheet. For an explanation of the settings, refer to the help.

If you are scanning from the platen, click [Preview] → drag the mouse over the preview to specify the scan range.
The area bordered by the dotted lines is scanned. The specified range can be manipulated in the following ways.
Drag the specified range to move it.
Drag the handles on the framework lines to change the size of the range.
To cancel the specified range, click outside of the specified range.
If [Auto] is selected for [Original Size], you cannot use [Preview].

Click [Scan].
IMPORTANT
After clicking [Scan], until the dialog box showing the scanning progress status is displayed, do not operate the Color Network ScanGear 2 driver.
The scanned image is displayed in the window of the application.
After scanning is finished, if the Color Network ScanGear 2 driver does not close automatically, click [

] (Close).
